Paul Abbott Becomes a Patron of Bipolar UK
March 28, 2012
Bipolar UK, the national bipolar charity, is delighted to announce that Paul Abbott, celebrated screenwriter and producer, has agreed to become a patron.
Paul is one of the country’s most critically and commercially successful television writers, responsible for creating highly acclaimed, popular television dramas such as Shameless, State of Play, Clocking Off and the highly-anticipated new drama Hit & Miss.
As Paul explains “While people keep asking me NOT to talk about this illness in public, (and that remains shockingly plenty) I will continue shooting my loud little mouth off about it for totally obvious reasons."
Bipolar UK’s Chief Executive, Suzanne Hudson, said, “It is fantastic to have Paul as a patron. He joins us at a time of great change within mental health services and as a charity we are determined to do all we can to help people with bipolar cope with their condition and realise their full potential.”
Paul will be giving a keynote speech at the Bipolar UK National Conference on Saturday 23 June. The Bipolar UK National Conference is an annual event and is the largest conference in the UK for people affected by bipolar.
This year, Bipolar UK will also be launching the inaugural National Bipolar Awareness Day, which will take place on Wednesday 27 June 2012. Along with a new website, Bipolar UK is making sure that they are supporting people with bipolar everywhere.
